Members WRGKMC
I would go with a locking mount in back of the original nut myself. The mod would be reversable that way. Some locking nuts require a shortening of the fretboard to get them installed which isnt reversable. You also have a string spacing issue. With a behind the nut locking system, you avoid all of those issues. Locking tuners can work too depending on the nut material and how much downward pressure the headstock angle creates on the nut. Members tedmich
I have a Kahler Hybrid installed in my previously hardtail Carvin DC150. If you want a Kahler you'll need a radically different rout (top only) OR a huge adapter plate to cover the FR type rout, see: http://www.wammiworld.com/PL-4%20and%205.html A decent Edge Pro trem would be a better addition IMO, (better, a ZR!) but if you are set on a Kahler they have a very different feel than a FR, very light action, smaller range (less pitch change for a given bar movement) and some trick to stay in tune. I use a graphtech nut, no locking nut and it stays in tune very well but I use a special teflon shrink tube on the strings
