Members guitarbioch
I want to start a project soon of putting my 22-fret Ibanez GRX20 (Gio) neck on a telecaster body... Without having the dimensions of either at the moment, since they are both square-ended, would this work? Thanks guys!
Members Guitarmonkey55
I recently did something similar with an ibanez rg270 body and a reverse headstock 24 fret jackson neck of an unmatching scale length. there are two considerations to take. the most important is the scale length, which can be compensated just by making sure the measurement from bridge to nut is correct for the fret placement on the neck. this means you may have to adjust where the neck is attached to the body, moving it back or forwards. in the case of my rg, this impeded on the neck pickup cavity but i wasnt using a neck pickup anyway so i dont care. so check it out by dry fitting it all and see if it gets in the way of anyhting that you care about. Members Belva
Measure across the heel of the neck. 2& 3/16"? Good. Now measure from the nut to the 12th fret. Double that. If you come up with 25.5" you can bolt it place & make a cool guitar. If not you'll have to do what Monkey suggested. Or relocate the bridge.
