Members spdolan
Bought my wife a bass for Christmas on the bay - it needs a new pickguard, and I thought I'd girl it up a little for her by slapping a blue pearloid guard on it. its a black bass. any thoughts? Members WRGKMC
What kind of bass? By the way, Blue is for guys, Pink is for girls. (Ugh, I know, pink is the ugliest possible color, but you said its her bass not yours right?) If its something like a Precision theres tons and tons of aftermarket stuff that is super cool. I've seen everything from 3D images, Leather, psychodelic, Glow in the dark, and hundreds more. theres even plenty of girley stuff too. (or girley man if that someone thing) If its an oddball bass, then you need to cut your own. The options are a bit more limited, but I'm sure you might be able to find a pink pearldoid or something she'd like.

Members Belva
Do some more googling & you'll find places that will make a pickguard from a pattern. Find some time when she's not around, pull the guard off & trace it on to some kraft paper. Shouldn't take long. If you have a guilty look tell her you're having an affair. She'll never know you've been messing with her bass. OK maybe not a good idea on the last part.
Members the_gunslinger
Here ya go. Warmoth has all sorts of crazy colors, in both pre-made pickguards and blanks. Hope this helps. http://www.warmoth.com/Pickguard/PBassPickguard.aspx
Members katillac
D, I think a blue pearloid pickguard on a black bass would be really cool! I'm not totally sure they have them for the Squier Bass, but it's worth checking into it. Log onto eBay and send a message to pinup_music_parts and ask them if they have one. They started making their own parts not long ago and they listed a {censored}load of bass pickguards about a month ago. I don't see them any more, but that doesn't mean they don't have them or can't make one for you. I am pretty sure they have blue pearloid material. They have a regular web site, too, but I don't see pickguards listed there. I think they're trying to build up more clientele via eBay first. They had a huge store before, but the two owners had a falling out and they are rebuilding again. They have tons of knobs that they make, too. Before I forget again, if they don't answer you right away, give it a few days. They're having growing pains due to expanding really fast. If you don't hear back in a week, then by all means try again or try via the contact page on their web site. I wish I didn't lose all my bookmarks months ago. I found a place that does custom pickguards - even trace-your-own ones - and they listed a pink like that. I also found upholstery vinyl with the same look (lost that link, too, dammit).
Members SoldierStape01
...I wish I didn't lose all my bookmarks months ago... I hate it when that happens.... Years of work and collection down the drain!!! I feel for you. I don't know why but my accounting program deleted my entire business about a week ago, customer records, sales, vendors, accounts... everything... Thankfully I also keep paper copies of everything in backed it up about a month prior. What kills me the most is that it deleted it 3 days prior to my scheduled monthly backup....
