Members 211dave112
So finished my bass cab build today. basically, i wanted a small bass cab to use as a monitor on stage. 99% of the time my bass is put through the PA so i dont really need to lug around a big cab that needs to fill out a room with sound. I wanted something i could have on stage, cos i'm not a huge fan of monitoring mybass thru the same monitor as my vocals, i like them separate. so i built a little 1x12 cab, which as it goes is actually pretty loud and can easily do rehearsals. this was on a budget, so it is covered in denim from the local charit shop, and the handles are in fact an old belt. but i like it, it's something to throw in the car. half way... and then finished (almost, have to tidy up the material in the port, and i want a strip of wood with some kind of logo on it across the top of the baffle to cover a gap in the top corners(measure twice, cut once!)) Members archiemax
Cool project! Often wondered why denim isn't used more as a cabinet covering--Didn't some car company (I think it was AMC) once offer a "Levi's Edition" model where all the upholstery was denim?? Members Belva
I believe it was AMC. Archie, we're giving away our age! I've never thought about denim, but I like it.

I did cover the denim however in a slightly watered down layer of pva glue to give it some extra strength and stop it getting stained quite so easily. Members Belva
Not familiar w/pva glue.? This fits the pack-rat in me. I don't throw away worn out jeans, so I have enough material to cover just about every piece of gear used in this whole state!
Members 211dave112
pva glue is just your average white glue, wood glue, arts and crafts, that kind of thing.
