This is a spare I bought and had engraved. My wife gave me the Les for a wedding present, and I named it Bianca. Had that engraved on a spare cover, now im going to fill the engraving with gold to level.

Sorry, should have made that clear

I would just use the "Testor's" brand hobby paint that's meant for model cars. It's meant to paint onto plastic, another paint might melt the plastic. Don't try to fill the engraving and make it level with the top, just paint the engraving with gold metallic paint and it should 'pop' nicely.

sure, though I dont think it counts as DIY. I had a place in the mall do the engraving on a blank truss rod cover I ordered from Sweetwater. But I love showing off my les, so I'll gladly post some pics once its all done

When you paint the engraving that puts in into the DIY realm. For that i recommend the Testor's brand as well. And a fine brush of good quality. May also be a good idea, if you're a drinkin' man, to do it when you're completely sober.
