Members Psalms150
A friend of mine had an Eden Nemesis 212 bass combo amp.. was pretty sweet but the doof plugged it into an ungrounded extension cord for practice. Needless to say curplat no more bass amp.. Speakers were still brand new so a good friend of the family rewired them to work as subs in my car (I know, right).. Now I've replaced that with a 10JLw3 (I know, right).. And I'd like to wire this mutha thumpa back to atleast a 212 cab I may be able to run a head unit from. I've got no idea what to do with this so any help is much appreciated.:facepalm: Summary: Can anyone help me rewire a 212 bass cab so I can run a head threw it. email me if you've got some pretty specific instructions. k thanx
Members WRGKMC
An ungrounded amp isnt the cause for the amp smoking. Having and ungrounded chassis is a shock hazzard only. You need to know the impediance of the speakers and need to know hat impediance head you want connected to themor you'll wind up smpking another amp head. Speakers provide a load on a head, if its off too much or too littleit overheats components. If the speakers are 8 ohms they can be wired in series Tip > + > - > Ring. 8+8 = 16 ohms. They can also be wired in parallel Tip > + of both speakers Ring > - of both speakers 8x8 = 32 32/8 = 4 ohms so you have 4 ohms in parallel or 16 ohms in series. If the speakers are 16 okms you would run them in parallel for 8 ohms (you wouldnt run these in series for 32 ohmsIf the speakers are 4 ohms you would run them in series for 8 ohms. (its unlikely you would run these in parallel for 2 ohms) So you can see theres many wiring options possible and unless we know what the speakers ohms are and what kind of head you'll be usingI'd only be guessing what would work.
