SO I wanna Have a 1 humbucker guitar with 1 volume and one on/on/on mini toggle for series, split, parallell wiring. I have the pickgaurd ready with the HB, volume pot, and switch installed in the picture.Based on my pic, can someone make me a drawing of how to wire this please? The orientation I have is different than the one on the schematic at GuitarElectronics.com so I dont know how to go about it. Thanks. Im a noob at soldering so any help is greatly appreciated. :)

Take the right lug of your pot and bend the tab over so you can soilder it to the corner of the pot shell. The to volume wire from your switch will go to the left lug. The ground from your jack will get soldered to the back of your pot and the + from the jack will go to the center lug of your pot.

OK which coil is the "south" coil? The one closet to bridge or furthest? This is important because they have diagrams for either coil. I want to use the coil furthest from bridge.

Also which lug on the input jack is positive? The inside one or the outside? Thanks

What brand is the pickup? The wire colour arrangement differs between a few different brands. There's a page on guitarelectronics.com dedicated to just that subject. Do some reading on there. Once you get a better grasp on things, if you don't already know parallel from series, you'll have a much better understanding of how to wire a switch for them.

This page at Alexplorer's Axe Hacks spells it out in really simple terms, and the links at the bottom carry things further. It's a great site for wiring reference and guitar mods. There also is Wolf's web site that also is easy to follow and lots of stuff to learn from. If any links on the site don't work and the URL points to 1728.com, just change the .com to .org. The page I just linked you to also explains DPDT switches, as not all work the same.

It worked. Following the color codes for Fender humbuggies I actually managed to get it right on the first try. Amazing. Here she is. This guitar now sounds fantastic.

It has been thru alot of configurations. First it was a trad 3x single coil strat in sonic blue. I had top notch pickups and hardware and I still thought it sounded thin and weak. I didnt know why. So I eventually replaced the cheap Mighty Mite neck with a good Warmoth one, ditched the 3 singles for a Fender Atomic HB, and repainted it black. WOw what a difference a good quality fat neck will make. I ve spent alot of time and money on this thing but Im very happy with the way it came out finally! . :)

P.S. ill grab a black strat knob and string tree for her tommorow.

Good idea. Now that you point that out it does look kinda weird like that. Any idea where I can get one? Do you mean a pickup ring?

I believe that what she means, yes. I agree that will make it look more finished. GFS has surrounds/pup rings as do many vendors on Evilbay.

BTW a quick and easy way to determine which lug is which on a jack is simple. The lug that you can see going to the ring on the inside of the jack is always ground. If you look you can physically see that it grounds to the shaft of the plug.
