I need to know what that cable that goes from a 1/4 inch male directly to the speaker with the positive and negative wires is called. Its on most tube amp combos, mine went bad and i need a replacement but i'm having problems finding one. Can anyone Help???

Its just called two conductor, unshielded speaker cable.

It can be bought with or without plugs on it.

Allot of guys here just buy Zip cord or canabalize an old extension cord and solder 1/4" plugs to it.

Zip coed usually has one side of the wire thats bumpy and one side smooth so you can identify which side is hot when wiring.

You want to keep the tips of the plugs connected together with the same side of the wire and the same for the sleeves.

If you just want to buy a more heavy duty cable, You can buy them here. http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searchResults.cfm?srchExt=CAT&srchCat=86

If your application calls for one end with a plug and one end with with bare wires so you can connect to a HiFo speaker,

buy a longer one and cut it in half. Then cut back the insulation neatly with wire strippers to expose the bare wires.

Genrally, it is just called "Speaker Cable" to differentiate from "Instrument Cable".
