Members Ben Jotrucci
Hi Everyone! I'm new here, an on/off hobby/semipro luthier for 25 years. I recently finished an instrument with Jackson/Rhoads V as basis of design. There's something wrong with me, since I always tend to crave for something different. So, the body was built to accommodate a 1960 Cadillac tail light assembly. I also considered other makes and models, but this was most pleasing to my eye, fit the V shape best and was small enough to be fitted in a playable guitar. The colour is not an original Caddy but was chosen from brighter side of the 60's scheme. Hardware is logically chrome, and I added some yellowish brown to laqcuer to create natural aged tint. V guitars are not as natural to play while sitting as ones with a "waist", so I made a Steinberger-style foldable leg rest to make things more ergonomic. So take a peek: Hate it, love it, all comments and suggestions welcome!
