Members IGWright
I have a number of files I downloaded with the suffix *.asx. I'm using Winamp. I downloaded the files to my iRiver H300, but they are quite large in size. Would converting these files to another format such as mp3s reduce their size. And if so, how would I do this. Thank-you, Ian PS I needed to change the suffix to *.wma in order to play them in Winamp. The files are currently in my iRiver as *.wma files. Members toddlans
I think .asx has something to do with an .asf video file. like a shortcut or link to an .asf file this could be the reason that the file is so large it could be a video file but you don't have the video codec for it so you're just seeing the visualization thing in media player. or maybe because you changed it to .wma file. yeah did a quick google and it does have something to do with an .asf file. check this out or search for whatever yourself.http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=ASX
Members IGWright
Thanks. I found a utility that will rip mp3s from *.asx and *.wma. I gave it a try and it seems to work, so I'm on my way. Ian:cool:
