I mainly want to know what other people do with their Plugins. I'm a bit frustrated because there doesn't seem to be a way to organize plugins under a specific path, that is to say, they way they appear under the plugins menu when you're selecting an insert. Compressors and EQs that I use on almost every track I'd like them to be under an easy to find menu so I'm not digging for them every time I select them as an insert. More experimental plugins that I haven't really become familiar with their proper usage I would like somewhere else. Plug ins that are under a 30 day trial period or are a limited demo in anway.... etc

is there a way of doing this that anyone knows of? How about any other cool, yet not so well know tricks?

Open up explorer (my computer) and go to your VST folder (something like C:Program FilesSteinbergVSTPlugins) and arrange them in folders. The folders will be the name of each heading and whatever plugs are inside that folder will be in that menu. At least this is the only way I know to do it. You might have another VST folder inside the Cubase SX folder and I think it reads those first (the stock plugs). This is assuming you are on a PC. I haven't used a Mac in quite awhile and couldn't tell you how to do that.

You should be able to organize your VST Instruments the same way you do for plugins. In my VST folder I have a folder labled "Synths" and in it, you guessed it, are all my VSTi's. Inside the Synth folder, I have other folders based on the types of VSTi's I have (Drums, Saplers, Subtractive, etc).

One thing I have found helpful for both my effects and my synths is, besides organizing everything by category, to make a "Go To" folder for both my effects and my synths. In this folder goes my favorite effect/synth from each category. It saves me a bunch of time, especially when tracking, as I have a habit of getting pulled into {censored}ing with different fx and settings rather than just getting the job done.
