Members Jeztastic
Hiya, Looking for some advice. My band is looking to record a 3-track ep. What's the going rate? We've been approached by a studio in London http://www.myspace.com/ianshawproducer who are offering
Members Kurd_01
Probably for london, But it does depend on what you want to do. I know serval studios here in essex (about 30min's from london) that would do you 3 days for
Members Jeztastic
We really want to do a 3-track ep type thing. We have 3 vocals, 2 guitars, bass, drums, synths. The guy emailed back and said that would take 3 days absolute minimum, I'm guessing more. We've been used to recording at a little studio here in Kent, but the producer there is more about folk/blues and doesn't really seem up to what we're doing now... If you could give me names or better still links to a few places so I can compare that would be great. Thanks for your reply!
Members Kurd_01
As I siad, it depends on how your doing things, but for 3 tracks you could do that pretty much live in one day. I just recorded four tracks for a band in about 14 hours. And that was everything seperatly. I'd suggest working out how far you want to go, and what your budget is. If you reckon you could whack out 3 tracks in a day and tell me how far you want to travel I'll pass on some info. Members Emoco
I just listened to that guy's myspace and the tracks are awful. I could do better in my living room.
Members Jeztastic
Emoco, can you be more specific? What don't you like about it? Sorry Kurd_01, we are not wanting to do it live, we want something really crafted, layers, overdubs etc... Cheers for the offer though!
Members Meriphew
What kind of experience does he have? What kind of room(s) does he have to record in? What kind of gear does he have?
