How do you send the Master Fader to 2 sets of outputs in PT?

I want to accommodate my main monitors and my Avantone Mixcubes. My Events are setup on the monitor outputs of my 002, being fed by the Master Fader output. Is there a way to send the Master Fader out to say, the 7-8 pair and the monitor outs simultaneously?

This way I could manually (externally) bring up the Events or the Mixcubes as needed...

Any ideas?

Put a pre-fader aux bus on the master fader / output channel, and a stereo aux return, assigned to outputs 7/8, with input assignments correlating to the aux send bus you just set up, and create a mix / mute group, with one output muted and the other unmuted. That way, when you mute one, the other automatically unmutes. :)

Yeah, I just verified in the manual... the Master Fader does not have sends, only inserts. So really, it appears I need a way to route the Master Fader to multiple outputs. I seem to recall reading a book talking of a little known feature routing to mulitple outputs. Of course the source of the read now escapes me. Anyone?

I usually do this by adding an output assignment to each track going to the main buss. I'm having a brain fart now, and can't remember the shortcut.

edit: control click the output selector on Mac, start click on Windows. Select an additional pair of outputs.

The output assignment will show up in italics to indicate that multiple paths have been selected.

Sadly, this trick does not work on a master fader itself. You have to change the outputs of the individual tracks.

This is the easiest way I've found to exactly mirror the main mix on an additional pair of outputs.

That's it!!! Thanks a ton Zooey. So you assign each track to an additional master? Master 2? I'm sure I can figure it out from here. Thanks again.

No problem! The additional output assignment will depend on how things are labeled in you I/O setup. In my case, Output 1&2 is the main buss by default, and other outputs are Output 3&4, 5&6, and 7&8. You can create a new master fader to control the overall level of the additional output pair.
