Members Crxsh Posted April 15, 2009 Members Share Posted April 15, 2009 I'm trying to set up my Presonus Inspire 1394 as the input, but have my PC speakers be the output for playback. How the hell do I do that??? I mean, I've got the Inspire as the input currently, but I can't figure out how to get my PC to be the output. Help? I had the same problem with my Inspire but I was using it with a Mac Mini...I don't know JACK about Windows but is there a menu where you can set the output source? Members weeman Posted April 15, 2009 Members Share Posted April 15, 2009 because of latency issues and cubase specifcations it can only use 1 sound card at any time the only DAw ive heard of too use 2 soundcards is logic!. Using any card as input will have its own latency but using a onboard soundcard as a output will make ur latency jump up around 200ms or upto 1second depending on the hardware. If you need the pc speakers for monitoring buy cables too ur other soundcard. Or swop soundcards after recording to monitor using ur onboard. Members nerol1st Posted April 16, 2009 Members Share Posted April 16, 2009 PC speakers are 1/8" phono connection right?Why can't you plug it right in next to the 2 RCA outputs? I see a small out jack there? OR you can plug it into the headphone out. That's what I would do, it's a huge pain in the ass to switch between soundcards (internal PC card for playback and inspire for recording) quickly, actually I know of no way to do it that QUICKLY in cubase (I assume that is what your using). If you don't want the hastle or your speakers are different get adapters, a stereo (white red RCA) to 1/8" phone male with a femal to female adapter on the end of that would work as well.
