Members theHORSEwhisperer
I have recently purchased an M-Audio Profire610 and the DAW Reaper for some recreational / semi-polished recording. Both the program and the interface seem to work quite well (I did some simple recordings that turned out rather clear and well-defined), but I am assuming my inexperience with both DAWs and I/O interfaces have prevented me from using both in tandem. My problems are as follows: 1) Although the volume meters say otherwise, I cannot for the life of me seem to record anything that can be heard beyond turning the volume on my computer to the max. To clarify, when I record an instrument to a track, both the master and track volume meters respond accordingly... however, I cannot see any audio waveforms on the mixer. Finally, when I play back my track, I must turn the volume on my monitor to the max just to hear it (and FWIW, what I can hear is rather nice). 2) For some reason, my mix is not outputting to my external monitors during playback or recording. I have set up everything (to my knowledge) correctly, and I have no idea why this is happening. This problem has resulted in me having to export my mix for playback. Thanks for reading, and I will give you any more information / screenshots / pictures / whatever you need to help me fix these issues.

If Mac check your preferences and choose M-Audio for your output instead of built in speakers. I hope this may help you some.

And I have set up all my outputs to the external monitor I want them to play on.
Members theHORSEwhisperer
Apparently my problem was that I actually muted my inputs and outputs on accident within the interface's configuration wizard... oops. Everything appears to be working at the moment.
