Members John Busbee
I've got a Toshiba with Win7, Intel Duo Core, 64 bit, 4 gig mem, big ass hard drive...anyway, is this suitable for a daw and, if so, what programs and interfaces are the best bang for the buck. I want to do full band, so a minimum of 8 at a time is what I'm looking for. Thanks. JB no firewire...but 4 usb, one hdmi and one sata?
Members AluminumNeck
If it doesn't puke from thermal failure. It should be a good machine based on specs. I'd suggest a thermal cooling pad. Most laptops are way way way undercooled.
Members Norton666
Firewire is something that is becoming more and more vital. The Presonus Digimax stuff is a great bang for the buck imo , but it seems to me almost everything connects via Firewire now a days. I could be wrong though. Also , I dont know if there are a ton of DAWs that are compatible with Windows 7 right now. I know my buddy had a hell of a time finding one that was compatible that he liked.
