I dont see where current 8.5 users get a break, only those who buy 8.5 new which sucks. I just bought 8.5 less than 9 months ago.

I'd have to do a lot more reading up on reviews before I'd think of upgrading and would likely need to see if theres a discound for current 8.5 users.

The new plugins may just be GUI changes with no sonic benifits. I'd like to see if the Plugin resources have been addressed before I'd even think about upgrading. If its mainly GUI then I see no reason to upgrade, There wasnt that many changes upgrading between Sonar 4 to Sonar 8.5 for basic recording but there are GUI items that I use that date back to primative cakewalk 7 like envelopes that are still pretty cheezy.

What annoys me about Logic is the inability to move the various windows around, no advantage to having a dual monitor setup with Logic.

I use dual monitors in logic all the time. Have the main window on my right and I have the left monitor set up purely for the mixer.

I just upgraded from 8.0 Oct. 16th... grrrrrr. I figured something was up, since they sent me an upgrade discount for $79 bucks. You'd think they would take that into account; they have in the past, so we'll see. The 8.5 upgrade bought me a huge performance boost, so happy about that.

Thanks, Phil. Buddy passed away about 2 years ago from cancer. he was a really, really special dog. Loved the boat. Soon as I'd run the engine back to idle, he'd run up to the bow to watch me put down the anchor; 'hurry up, hurry up, hurry up..!'. Then back to the swim ladder; he'd hit the water about the same time as the ladder and swim all day long.

miss him every day. 'though our current dog is doing her best to make us forget him. :)

You can run it on a Mac - you just need to use Bootcamp and a Windows OS.
:)

Yeah I know but I just can't bring myself to waste precious space on my MBP's HD for Windows!

I'm still running Sonar 7P on a Dell P4. That machine is getting pretty old and I'm not going to buy any new software for it.

As may be obvious from my posts , I'm still trying to learn Logic Pro 9 (have the David Nahmani book right next to me) but recently I got side-tracked playing with the new Reason 5/Record 1.5 programs!

So much software, so little time!

Aaah man, my condolences. :(

I feel for you - I have lost three dogs in the past three years - two in just the last year. Two of the three were Labs. They're such great dogs.
