Amazon Angst

Or maybe I'm just losing my mind...

I ordered this thing from Amazon a while ago. As part of the deal, I'm supposed to be getting a $50 Amazon store credit. I think it's supposed to come via email sometime this month.

But I haven't gotten it yet, so I thought I'd try and follow-up on it and make sure I shouldn't be worried that I deleted it as spam or something.

I check all the stuff in "My Account," nothing seems to address my question.

I check all the stuff under "Help," but nothing answers my question.

Nowhere, NOWHERE, is there a phone number that you can use to call a person, or even a way to email a person. Even clicking "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page doesn't give you a way to contact anyone?

So I thought I'd be clever, and I made up an email address and sent an email to service@amazon.com... here's what I get in reply:

Greetings from Amazon.com.

Well, DUH! Those are all the help pages I've already visited - with no luck. UNBELIEVABLE!

So I went back to a help page and clicked on the "This page was not helpful" thing, and got a form. I filled it out, but even the form had a disclaimer that said I may not get a reply.

Maybe nobody works at Amazon - maybe it's just a big Borg of an automated computer-operated warehouse-thingy?

I've always liked them before, but I'm amazed at how thoroughly inaccessible they have made themselves.

Ok, so this is nowhere on their site, but if you need to reach them, here's the info:

1-800-201-7575 or 1-206-266-2992

24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Possible email adresses to use:

orders@amazon.com or info@amazon.com

I called the phone number, and had my answer within a few minutes. I may have been speaking to someone in India, though...

Which begs the question - do any humans actually work at Amazon?

Sorry for the hassle, felix :(

I've bought lots of great stuff from Amazon, all to a great experience. The only wierdo thing that i saw happen was in my last order. I ordered 3 cds, qualified for Super Saver Mofo Shipping, and checked out. By time the order shipped, one of the CDs had vanished from my order... I was billed for 2 cds instead of 3 so i didn't lose any money on it or anything, it's just wierd. The 3rd cd shows up in every lil update and viewing up until the order ships. There is no explanation to its dissapearance.

shopping cart error, i spose.

For the record (no puns!), this is the second time i've tried to purchase this CD in vain. The first time around, i called a music store, they said they had it. I drove 45min to go get it, and it was not there.

Ironically, the title to the cd is Mojo Box.... coincidence?
