Modern safety equipment does go a long way these days, however. a LOT can be said for a full rollcage, 5-link harness and a helmet, not to mention a firesuit and window nets. A few of those wrecks were a bit on the gnarly side, but the scenes with cars barrel-rolling and stuff are not quite as bad as they look in this context, believe it or not.
