50 Cent arrested for joy ride

A police spokesman said he was cited for making an unsafe lane change, driving with an expired permit, driving without insurance and driving without a vehicle registration.

What's wrong with these morons? Why go for a drive with an expired license and no insurance? Why do Paris Hilton and Mel Gibson and Nick Nolte and the 'Sixth Sense' kid have to drive drunk? Can't they afford cab fare?

1- Worships pinhead celebrities

2- Spends hours in front of the TV watching senseless "reality" shows

3- Buys horrible cookie cutter music

4- Is now truly a "Nation of Sheep"

Shall I go on?

The U.S., after all, is one Giant Corporation, bent on one goal: $$$

We wonder why the world is at war when we are guilty (along with many others) of arming every country we can with all the latest in killing methodology.

Problem is...we wear the bullseye.

But that's O.K. --- as long as we can watch Pinhead Paris Hilton pose for the camera on the evening news.:bor: :bor: :bor:

After all --- THAT is really what is important, isn't it?

Perhaps it's not the celebrities that are f---king stooooooopid:

Perhaps it is us.

Or how about Brad Pitt announcing that he won't marry Jolie, or anyone else I presume, until marriage rights are granted to gay people.

Now, I too am in favor of gay marriage rights, to the extent that I've thought through the issue, but...I don't get the mechanics of this piece of activism. Is he like, trying to deny us the pleasure of seeing him wed? Wait asecond...wasn't he already married once? Or is it the really luscious pleasure of seeing him divorce that he's denying us?

It just seems to me a grandiose, and oddly incoherent, moment of self-importance.

someone should print Lucky's comment and send it in to Time magazine. if i worked there i would publish that {censored} front page.

its true that even if Paris Hilton gets news coverage for giving head to a goat, its still coverage, and people are still talking about her. some celebrities career thrive on publicity.

5- Then feels the need to take over other countries.

Well this isn't entirely true, a great deal of Americans don't care for any of the above.

If someone was a moron before they became a celebrity, they're going to be a moron afterwards.

Also, think about how many people get pulled over for DUIs that you don't know.

Geez Dan, I didn't realize you thought so highly of celebrities that you felt they would act any differently than most people.

How many non-celebrities across the country were arrested for driving erratically on the same day as 50 Cent? Maybe 100? 500?

I'll pose the question back to you: why would we have higher level expectations for the behavior of celebrities as whole than we put on the rest of the people? Do athletes, actors and musicians inherently possess a higher moral character than plumbers, accountants and customer service reps?

Here's your real question: why are people so {censored}ing stupid? And for that, I have no answer.

Or is it that he doesn't want to get married? :D

Okay, sure, lots of people get pulled over for DUI. My point was that maybe John Q. Beerdrinker can't afford to call a limo when he's had a few too many. Mel Gibson and Paris Hilton ***CAN*** afford the stupid limo, and yet they still don't make the call.

Don't buy the hype and it will lose it's place in print.

We may be beyond that at this point. It seems to me that it is not so much about what the public wants any more, it is about what the media chooses for us. Take a look at what they did to VH1. No one can convince me that there were consumers clamoring for a reality show following Flavor Flav around.

We get so caught up into this "being a part of the loop" BS, that we watch, drive and wear what were told. Once that line of thought becomes and integral part of a society, it is very hard to eradicate it.

Maybe so, but... if people would not fall into the LOOP and resist that which they are force fed; without an audience the ratings would go down and without a buyers market the trash would not survive. Because there is nothing else to "watch" on TV does not necessarily suggest that there is nothing else to do for entertainment. Expand your interests and get out and breathe the air, read a good book, PLAY MUSIC, go to a sporting event, get involved in sports, make love with your partner, there are a ton of things to do other than watch a poorly compiled TV show or buy into reading insignificant hogwash. TV is not a way of life, although some choose to accept it as a way of life at times.

Oh yeah, and as far as driving and wearing what we are told... Dare to be yourself at times; it's quite refreshing to take the lead occasionally. I wear what is comfortable to me and NOT what is dictated by society. I drive a minivan that is reliable transportation; I could not care less about what anyone else thinks because it suits the purpose I bought it for... to get me places on time.

I guess I don't fall into the loop, but I'm also secure enough and confident enough to be myself.;)

Hey, I agree with you, and I drive, wear, watch and play what I please, and I think that the majority of people here do. I was just commenting on what I see around me, I was not trying to make excuses.

Ah, now I understand. Rich people are stupid. Gotcha.

What it really comes down to is that people make bad decisions when they're intoxicated, regardless of fame or financial status. It also points out that when people consider themselves to be of a different class than most people (the wealthy, the famous, whatever), they forget that the same rules still apply to them as they do to the unwashed masses. In that aspect, you are correct.
