Before I begin. (Ahem...) I know I'm a noob and what it may seem like I'm posting is a cheap shot at getting this business known by spamming but I'm not. As you're all a bunch of musicians who at one point had to begin to learn your instrument I'm just looking for feedback on this idea which I'm helping out on to see what you think, as this is a site for musos... I know harmony central is full of intelligent people but also a few mutts that i'll be opening the floodgates for slagging off the noob, but hey. Let's hear something constructive, that'll be muchos appreciated...

So fellow shredders and slow hands, what do you think of this online guitar/bass/drums tuition program (see link below). It's been designed by musicians for musicians and incorporates a screen with separate viewing windows for each instrument which can all be toggled on or off for each song. This means that if you are a guitarist you can toggle the screen so only the guitar is playing for while you learn the track, and then once you've nailed it down you can then mute the guitar and play along with the bass/ drums/ other guitar.

The same company (Show Me How To Play) are also going to be doing exclusive interviews with people who work behind the scenes in the music industry, e.g. Roadies, Sound Technicians, Record Labels etc. and obviously bands themselves which will be available to be streamed from the website.

Take a look at the pilot homepage at http://www.showmehowtoplay.com and also our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/showmehowtoplay where we'll be uploading new videos over the next month before the full on launch. The idea behind it is to eventually be an online library of the music industry, giving insights into every aspects of what goes on.

Thanks,

Mattx

It looks cute but I think the spam needs a sprig of parsely on the side of the plate to make it a little more attractive... and if you could get something to cover the smell...

Heck... it might even be helpful for all those truly clueless types out there who've never seen a band play close up and seem to have no idea how music is made... I mean... you read their posts all the damn time... I was on GS the other day and this guy was saying, yeah, I've been recording a couple years, got a few albums under my belt and I finally picked up a pair of NS10m's... how do I hook them to my 003? They just have, you know, a couple screws on the back. If I just run some wires to the 003, how to I connect them, beause there are all these, like, holes, but no screws... I imagine his clients are probably your potential customer pool...

Asking people here about whether a training program is good is sort of silly. At least it is from my viewpoint. You need to ask people who don't currently play but have tried it out whether it is good at training.
