I'm not much for the new year hype thang, but this is a special group of people and I would like to thank you all for your participation in, and contributions to, this forum in 2007. We all know that yes, my name's on the forum but it's YOU who make this such a great place to hang. Through your posts I've learned, I've laughed, and I've thought so many times I'd just love to be rich enough to fly you all out to a party where we could all meet in person.

Thanks again for everything!!

P.S. And for the shameless promotion part of this post...the world needs all the help it can get. Talk is cheap, action is effective. Do what you can to make this world a better place...help your neighbors, adopt an abused animal, teach a kid to play an instrument, do something nice for someone you don't even know...raise the level of your life, raise the level of the lives of others, and you'll raise the level of the world.

Nice to hear you say that, I believe the worlds problems is our problem.

Happy New year to you, your family and all the "Harmony People."

This is just one of those places that you have to poke your head into just to see all the familiar names and read the posts and share all their knowledge, wisecracks, humor, troubles, and successes.

Happy New Year to all of you.

Aw, shucks, Craig... :o:o:o .... t'wouldn't be the same without'cha  You are much too humble!

True that there are a LOT of great folks on board here that are knowledgeable in just about every aspect of life. The community, as a whole, outranks any other virtual community on the web. But YOU, Sir Craig, are the nobleman that has generously contributed your time and efforts into building and keeping this community alive and thriving. Sure there are a handful of other "Giants" that helped build this community into what it grew to be, but when the going got tough, YOU are the only giant that toughed it out and stayed with some of us wee minions through thick and thin...

There are a lot of successful MI professionals that frequent these boards and contribute their knowledge, but none have committed themselves to the degree that you have. It's one thing to drop by and post periodically, while browsing through the forum to see if you might learn something from other discussions going on, but your dedication to this community has revealed itself time and time again. You've struggled to find new shelter for this community more than once, and you have been relentless in your willingness to feed those hungry to learn; sometimes, if not many, operating in the red at your own sacrifice.

My first query on the web to find "professional music" landed me on the AOL forums way back when. I mostly hung out in the Songwriter's Forum, where Kris from UCLA was the moderator. There were some cross-over forum members that were engineers that frequented both the SSS forum and the Songwriter's Forum that encouraged me to lurk over in the SSS Forum if I was even the least bit interested in learning to record. When the name Craig Anderton came up, I didn't have a clue as to who you were until EQ and Mix magazines were mentioned; I recognized the names of both without hesitation and quickly associated your name with the publication's articles. Whenever the SSS made the break from AOL and moved to MPN, I followed, as did many others. The Songwriter's Forum was still in tact over at AOL with Kris what's-her-name at the helm, but I never looked back to see what became of it.

The names Craig Anderton, Roger Nichols, and George Massenburg were the headliners that drew attraction to the MPN forums. Whenever George and Roger parted ways, YOU hung in there. Whenever UEM determined that they needed to realign the forums, YOU fought for the life of the community at all costs.... that was all YOU Craig. We minions had NO pull whatsoever. Whenever the existence of the SSS on the MPN began to look pretty grim, YOU negotiated with Musician's Friend and Harmony Central and brought about a new shelter for the SSS members to migrate to.... again, that was all YOU, Craig. The community was established over at MPN, and most of us could have filtered into the other forums that were still in existence. We could have continued to co mingle with those virtual acquaintances that we had befriended, but many of us followed the SSS because of your leadership and commitment to the community. You run the best virtual party on the web.:thu:

It's great to have more giants, like Bruce Swedien and other big names, grace us with their presence; but I seriously doubt that any of them would have wanted to hang out in a forum that didn't have such a notorious reputation with such a great host. The best thing about the SSS is that it's like the backstage lounge where the big guys come in and relax, after a hard day's work, and they mentor those seeking knowledge while sharing tips about the industry and virtual drinks. Those big guys don't have the time to commit to keep the backbone of this forum strong while continuing to do what they do in the studios, merchandise markets, and otherwise.... but they DO enjoy having a place to hang their hat and mingle with other great minds...

THANKS CRAIG, for being YOU!!!

Happy New Year!!!

jesus christ... happy new year but what the {censored} does god have to do with any of it?

2894: He had no further intercourse with Spirits, but lived upon the Total Abstinence

2895: Principle, ever afterwards; and it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep

2896: Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of

2897: us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Every One!

2898:

2899: THE END.

It's a reprise of line 1662

1662: 'God bless us every one.' said Tiny Tim, the last of all.

Who knew that there was a complete concordance of Dickens online?

http://victorian.lang.nagoya-u.ac.jp/concordance/dickens/

How 'bout that? News to me. Happy New Year!

I'm sorry that I am typing so loudly.
