Members seclusion
Hey everyone So gigging lately I've got a setup that I need, all my guitar crap, cables, XT Live, Mic's, Mouse, Computer Keyboard on and on. Probably should be around 2' x 3' with little compartments for stuff to stay put!Does anyone have a suggested hard case that they like (light)(Cheep) that can house all this stuff to keep everything neat a tidy while moving from gig to gig?ThanksBrian
Members UstadKhanAli
I don't know of anything specifically, but SKB and Gator stuff is light and cheap. I know someone is going to jump in here and say that they're not super sturdy and they are not ATA-approved and they'd crack if abused or bashed around on planes (this happens every time someone posts about SKB), but since you said light and cheap and are moving it from gig to gig yourself, I think you'd be okay. I've had SKB stuff for my guitars for years and never had a problem with any of their stuff.
Members mayorstoner1
" I got a storage box at Sears a few years ago, they still make a version, thats about 2 feet wide - 20 inches tall - 18 inches deep. It has wheels, a folding handle, three layers of storage with small trays on top for picks, slides, short cables. The bottom holds power cords, some bulky stuff. It's tough as nails. I'm considering getting a second one, because I've added stuff. Costs about 50 bucks. " MS1
Members UstadKhanAli
Would the foam stuff for the mics help, or are your mics all in cases or otherwise wrapped already?
Members mayorstoner1
" A little padding here and there never hurts. My Shure 57's stay in their original hard plastic cases. This box has been in our band truck for years, has been gigged 2-3 weekends a month, is practically air-tight, just about as tough as my ATA amp cases. Like I said, I'd get another one in a heartbeat. " MS1
Members seclusion
Thanks guys, funny the band just mentioned, "hey you should get a case for all that stuff"...Will look at Sears, is that in the tool section? Thanks again, the SKB stuff I've seen is mainly for rack stuff, I have a couple of those but really just need a good solid case, foam etc. that has compartments and keep things separate. Members mayorstoner1
" Yep, I got mine in the Sears 'Tools' section. Some of their stuff is not so great, but this Craftsman case was just what I needed. The outside casing is tough, top compartments keep little stuff separated, the handle retracts down into the case, the wheels are sturdy. I've got all my amps in custom ATA cases, but for accessories, this thing was all I needed. Maybe the best 50 bucks, I've spent for my music gear. Check it out.
