Members LordBTY
I'm actually quite discouraged from running through scales... The singing success program is good BUT Brett Manning's annoyingly smug and patronizing tone of voice (not to mention the whiny nasality of it all) ruins all the exercises for me. GARRRGH! His voice is far louder than the piano - whenever I turn it up so I can hear all the notes loudly and clearly this pompous ass tells me what note I'm on and how well I'm doing! It's bloody annoying! Anyone else find this when using a Brett Manning course?
Members mpeddle
Yeah, I think he's awful. But I actually think his program is very helpful in spite of the fact that I think his voice sounds miserable and whiney. It's interesting, because I think accessing a slightly more nasal tone is essential to using head voice effectively, but (obviously) it's easy to over-do it. I wouldn't model my voice after his, but his advice (and shortcomings) are very educational.
