Members Jeff da Weasel
Here's a pic of a much younger me (far right) along with Les and some friends. Below that is a note Les wrote me on the back of his business card. He's a great guy, and INCREDIBLY funny. Each time I've been around him, I've spent 90% of the time laughing. Happy B-Day, Les! Or Engineer Bill, for that matter. Bill has passed on but Sheriff John Rovick, as far as I can tell, is alive and living in Boise, Idaho (at least as of last fall). He's in his 90s, too. Anyhow, a big happy birthday to Les! A giant in the industry and a hell of a guitar player.
Members Peter Doubt
Les might be on wgn Radio tonight to celebrate his B'Day- sounds pretty sure, so if you're interested, just Google it and find the live feed. These guys have a history, that's why Les is on the show all the time, particularly when there are milestones. I know this is WGN, but trust me about the overnight show.Probably in an hour or so, or it could be later - for you on the west coast. Sorry if I'm over posting this, but if you're a fan you'll like it.
Moderators Lee Knight Posted June 10, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 10, 2008 You and I may be the only people around here, Lee, who know who Sheriff John is. And Phil... that was for you guys a much as Les. I sing the Sheriff John birthday song over the phone with acoustic guitar to those who know of the great and wonderful Sheriff and are celebrating a birthday. It kind of makes you feels 5 again, which isn't a bad thing.
