My Dad used to call me "Robert Rabbit".

My uncle used to call me "Squirrely"

As a boy playing in bars, the wait staff called me "Mozart".

In South Africa, people called me "Tex".

Mary Wilson of The Supremes used to affectionately call me "Ritchie Cunningham". At least I hope it was affectionate.

I grew up right on the invisible border separating the whites from the Mexican Americans in suburban L.A. Born 1959. I went to Catholic school, and that decision on my parents part, had a little pasty skinned, blond boy riding his bike through the Mexi neighborhood to get to St. Johns every day. I got called names, I got money stolen, I got eggs thrown, and I learned to fight.

Soon, my best friends were all Mexican American. And like the little toe headed kid in Leave it to Beaver, my buddies called me "Whitey". Not like an angry hateful slur. Whitey like an endearing sort of nickname. I could fight, I could play the chords to Oldies But Goodies, I didn't cry like a {censored}, but I was really white. Still am.

Now most of the bands I produce call me "Doctor Lee! I don't know how that started but it's cool.

Wife calls me Mr Ice. You can call me Mr. Ice too.

pop sometimes used to call me "Jesus with a bad attitude"

Lizard King (I looked a little like Jim Morrison in my 20s - though our lifestyles differed ;) )

Q branch (hey, I'm an engineer)

Yellow Card, Flechekabob, and occasionally Captain Flunge (due to my fencing style)

I guess those are sort of pet names in certain circles -- I don't "go by" a nick though

T-Bone: This was while I was in college. My initials are TB, I'm tall and (was at the time) skinny and play guitar. My friends & bandmates started calling me this as it seemed appropriate.

Elvis: Still back in college. I was (and still am) a pretty big Elvis fan (not the freakishly odd/obsessed sort). Folks started calling me this as well.

T-Bone Elvis: A combination of the above.

Mudcat: I got back together with a former bandmate and we were planning out another musical venture (a combination of surf, rock-a-billy & Chris Isaak). He said I needed a stage name and I said everyone still calls me T-Bone. He thought that there were too many T-Bones around so I just blurted out "Mudcat" and it stuck.

At first I didn't think I had any nick names. But there are certain individuals that decided to give me one. So I only answer to these from those certain people.

Marco Polo Shirt

Marcus

Marcus Aurillius

Marky ( only in college and cause they were cute girls did I not protest)

Magruches - mom calls me this

Philbert Desanex (the secret identity of Wonder Wart Hog)

Philber

Philbo

Philbeaux (a French guy told me that's the correct spelling for Philbo... too many vowels to suit me though)

titi (pronounced "TT". I know what you were thinking :D, my nonna gave me this name and till this day, my mother, sister & nieces call me this)

big ern: my bass player in my band has called me since college, not sure why and no, we`ve never taken a shower together.

Those are the top two but with a last name like Buckley, you can imagine some of the creative names I`ve been called over the years. :D

With Bob, Bobby, Robert and Rob happening at different stages of my life I never had time for a nickname.

True story:

When I started working at my present location a friend from highschool that works in a different office decided to call. When she got the switchboard operator the conversation went...

Friend: I need to speak to Bobby Brown.

Operator: We don't have anyone here by that name.

Friend: Yes you do. He is over information and computer systems.

Operator: We have a Robert Brown.

Friend: Well DUH!

My sisters called me "Rat Pick," a variation of my given name .

When I was 14 my mom started calling me "Lurch" because I grew like 6 inches in a year to 6'-4".

Kids in high school started calling me EC, as in "Eric Clapton".

When I first went into construction, I was "hey you", "gitwood" and "{censored}boy."

No nicknames anymore.

Yeah, somewhat back on line. Getting set up? Not! PM your cell.

I'd probably be all over that.
