Members dave12
Hi I'm a new user. I have been using the same mic clip for over 15 years and have become very used to it. It's really easy to chuck the mic in and out of the holder as the edges don't curl round at the top. Last week someone broke it. I have searched everywhere on the internet to find out who makes this exact shape clip but can't find it anywhere. I have posted a picture. Can anyone help? Members elsongs
How is it broken? (Unless you took the pictures before it broke)
Members UstadKhanAli
I have several small diaphragm condenser microphones from Audio-Technica that look either extremely similar or exactly like the ones you have. In case it matters, I have a pair of old ATM 33Rs and AT4051s. They both fit the same mic holders. Failing that, you can get a universal clamp type of mic holder. Members dave12
You can't see it in the pic but it's split. I super-glued it but it split again as soon as I put the mic in the next day. I'm still using it but the grip is a bit weaker and it falls out when I get carried away! I sing and play guitar in bars every night. A clamp type doesn't work for me. I need to get the mic in and out with one hand very quickly so there's no time to fiddle around. I could literally almost throw an SM58 onto this one - perfect!. Does the Audio-Technica one you mentioned hold an SM58 or is it too small? Members UstadKhanAli
Dave, the Audio-Technica clips I have will most likely not hold an SM57 or 58, and if it didn't, I wouldn't want to do it!!! The sort of newer 57s (they're probably about 12 years old) that I have did not come with mic clips like that, and if those are older clips like what Rudolf is saying, then I'm not familiar with them, sorry.
