Members audioicon
I have my own take on why some music today is so {censored}ed up.The group is King of Leon and the song is Use Somebody. Members Jeff da Weasel
It's okay. Kings of Leon are certainly the big critics' love affair recently, so maybe they hear something I don't. It's not bad, or anything. I can see why people would like it.

It's got a catchy rush! AI

It's got a catchy rush! Buy the song! That's what I always do when I'm not sure I want to take a chance on a band -- get in the iTunes store and get that song. If I like it, I start to investigate other tunes by the band, and if I like them, I get them. I usually don't buy entire albums until I find myself really digging 3-4 songs. Then I do. Members veracohr
Oh man, I hear that song on the radio all the time. I've heard a couple others from the same band, and I can't stand the singer's voice. So much so that I can't even pay attention to the music to know whether it's good or not. There are different aspect of a song that can appeal to me. Sometimes I'll listen to a song and don't like the artist voice but the guitars are wicked. It's called selective listening. 2 PAC has a song that has very great guitar parts but I can't stand the rap, it's like I want to say STFU and let the guitar play. The vocals are not the "wow" to me but I love the instrumentation. AI
Members kurdy
I hear that song on the radio a lot too. That and "Sex On Fire". I've heard this one in a TV commercial. Never knew it was them until now.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2DiE4_gswU Now if this got played on the radio, I'd be pretty impressed. But I guess somewhere along the line, someone at their label told them, "if you want to make it to the next level, you need to start sounding more like Coldplay". And voila! Mission accomplished. Nothing against Coldplay. Just that a lot of bands seem to try to sound like them nowadays.

Members lucasj81
Both the Kings of Leon singles are better than the other stuff I hear on modern rock radio stations, but that doesn't really say much. I have a low, low opinion of 99% of the music being played on 'corporate radio,' for lack of a better term. Another band you may dig is Ha Ha Tonka (www.myspace.com/hahatonka). They came through here earlier this week and I thought they sounded quite a bit like Kings of Leon (but more country, with really great harmonies.) Members John Sayers
AI - learn the song and play it on an acoustic guitar without all the backing and then decide whether it's such a great song - I think you 'll be dissappointed.
