What do you think of this Pringle?

Nothing beats a basic, unflavored LAY's potato chip.

Probably right. Only Lay's doesn't rhyme with single, shingle or spam. Herman Lay wasn't looking ahead when he insisted on using his real surname for the brand. If he'd called them Engel's he could have been in the title of this thread.

Or if his name was Dingell Norwood he could have called them Dingell's after his given name.

Hey AwayEamBro

I see from Wikipedia that y'all up in the Frozen North have the good taste to call Pringles potato chips, same as those of us down in the USA. And, of course, we know our friends and forgotten relations in the British Isles call them potato crisps. (The same Wikipedia entry tells the uniquely American [i'll let people fill in their own definition on that descriptive] story of how the potato chip was invented in New York in 1853.)

But what do our fellow English-as-a-vaguely-native-language cousins down in Oz and NZ call them?

HEY BRO2BRO

Before you accuse me of good taste, you should know that I am an Irish citizen, and therefore legally allowed to use either term.

I think the Aussies and Kiwis call them chips too.

Have you noticed that many potato chip bags, when you first open them, exude a fart-like smell?

No Ras I haven't. Maybe you're exerting a bit more than you realize when you open a bag of chips... might wanna try scissors. :)
