Gretsch Guitars G5120 Electromatic Hollow Body with Dual-Coil Pickups

Sound Quality

The 5120¿¿¿s stock mini-humbuckers are flexible enough to accommodate any style. Gretsch enthusiasts in love with that great ¿¿¿vintage¿¿¿ Gretsch sound can purchase TV Jones Classic Pickups in a replacement kit specially designed for the 5120.

In 1967 Baldwin bought Gretsch, but subsequent falling sales in the 70s nearly ended what had begun in Brooklyn in 1883 by 27 year old Friedrich Gretsch. Luckily the company was saved in 1985 by Fred Gretsch III who then began manufacturing reissues. In the early 1990s I purchased a Country Classic, Duo Jet, Duane Eddy 6120 and an acoustic Rancher. Today those guitars are between 10 and 15 years old and look and play as if they had been crafted yesterday. I recently bought two 5120s and expect the same standard to continue under the watchful eye of Fender who now has the exclusive worldwide rights to develop, produce, market and distribute Gretsch guitars.

General Comments

I¿¿¿ve been playing Gretsch Guitars since 1963 and felt right at home with the 5120 the minute I picked it up. If you¿¿¿ve always admired and considered owning a Gretsch, now you have the chance to enjoy that great Gretsch vibe at an affordable entry level price.
