Members merc
I was in a reputable drum shop today and I overheard a customer and the sales clerk discussing reasons why the customer's Tama wood shell snare sounded choked. The sales guy turned over the drum, removed the snares and snare head and proclaimed to the customer that Tama was so cheap that they "forgot" to cut snare beds at the factory. He also added that he had heard of this happening once before with a tama starclassic wood snare (from the owner of said reputable drum shop.) The solution was to shave/file/cut down the snare bed, at little or no charge to the customer. Just curious to see if anyone has had any sort of problem like this or has heard of any problems like this with Tama or any other brands of snare drums. Check your snare beds! (and then put them back to sleep)...
