Ok, i spent the better part of last night downloading soundclips from the Zildjian website, and tho some sound good, i noticed all the newer models like the A Custom Fast Crashes all sounded much more inyourface and brighter than the others.

do y'all trust the soundclips? or should i not trust them at all?

I only trust them to give you a vague idea, because not only will each cymbal sound a little different, everyone hits any given cymbal just a bit differently as well.

I just went to GC and banged on em till I found some I liked. Then the other day I went to the site and listened to clips of cymbals I own and play and was thinking damn, if I'd shopped by these sound clips I wouldn't have bought any of these!

Everyone always says "go try some out" for a reason - you really do have to do this! Don't judge any given cymbal by a sound clip, even when it is from the manufacturer.

Better off listening to any cymbal before you buy. I don't think a sample on line would be that accurate.

I see you play an Elrick. I know some people who play Elrick and they love their bass. Even played a few gigs with Rob, he's a heck of a bassist who makes a great bass.
