Members Dudicov109
Hi! I really want to learn drums, but I don't quite know where to start looking to buy stuff. What i really want to know is, what's a versatile, cost-effective drumset that I could use? how much will a decent drumset cost? please, any and ALL information you can spare about this will be super-helpful. thanks in advance!!! Members Chabo
You'll probably be able to find a used Pearl Export, Tama Rockstar, or Yamaha Stage Custom for around $400-500, cymbals included. They are all good mid-level kits.
Members Mopzilla
yeah, you can find a VERY decent used kit like a pearl export for 3-500 dollars, or a new one for 6-700 dollars. i think the newer kits come with a hihat, crash, ride, stands, everything you need to have a decent kit! drums are very fun! Members Dash OH drummer
just stay away from the scam drumsets they sell on ebay...brands like Hammer, Pulse, Enforcer because it's all crap. Stick with big names
Members MikeB24311
Mapex V-Series are very underrated. You can get a new one for 500-700. They are really good for beginner to mid-level drummers.
Members wmbreck
Ditto for the Mapex V series. I picked one up on sale for $439 with 5 pieces of hardware. Add some good heads down the line and you have a great kit for a very modest price.
Members rumblebelly
Ludwig Rockers are decent kits too, that's what I own.
Members moyerbros
I don't think it's fair to make recommendations without a price range. If you can only spend $150, it sure changes what is the best kit. If you can spend $1500, then it's a different story. The best deal changes with the budget.
