just recorded my playing for the first time

I only used a single microphone (cheap sony vocal mic) and it came out ok. I placed the mike in line with the hats in front of the kit slightly below the cymbal line.

Every part of the drumset was picked up and the cymbals actually sounded great.

Once I play something worthy of anyone listening to I'll post a link.

I am amazed at some of the recording quality of less expensive mics & boards. I made some recordings, when i was younger, with a boom box. The mic on the box picked up the whole set, tho the toms didn't sound that great, it still got everything.
