I have to drive 45 min for lessons once a week, and that's just one way. The store I take lesson's at is opening a store in my town, and they are giving lessons. The problem is, I really like my teacher. I don't know what to do, save gas mileage and stay in town, or take the drive. Any suggestions?

Ask your current teacher if he can rotate with you. Maybe teach you at this new place once or twice a month. Just explain to him that discance is really a factor.

Or

Just ask around about the new teacher. If he has a good recomendation, and if you've only been playing for 5 months, then you may not notice a difference in how they teach or what your learning because your still very new to drumming.

As long as your improving, thats the main thing.
