Members Strato1994
Forget the debate on the best drummer ever. Who would be the best drum teacher ever? If you could start drumming from scratch, and have the opportunity to pick any teacher, dead or alive, who would it be? Although I feel he is NOT the BEST all around drummer ever...I would still pick Neil Peart because he is very clear and gets his point across. And after five years I'd probably have enough under my belt to take on some ethnic drumming or something.
Members psycht
Jack Bell - best and most knowlegeable teacher i ever met. He played with the Atlanta Symphony for 30 years. He's won grammy's (when they used to mean something) and he tought Sonny Emery, Wil Terpin, and many other percussionists/drummers that are out in the market today. Incuding myself. Aside from having the fastest hands I've seen, he has such an insight into drumming that I've never seen from any other teacher. He taught me with I was at GA State School of Music. I would like to add... 1. A great drummer doesn't necessarily make a good teacher. 2. I would like to get some tips from Carter Beauford.
Members Mopzilla
Ken Piascik, and currently, Artie Storch. Artie is well known in the music industry around here.. you do a search on google on his name and you will find references to the SF Symphony, Metallica album, tons of stuff. Both of these guys play EVERYTHING, and they do it all very well... drumset, mallets, timpani, latin, etc... GREAT!
