Here is my new Conaway.

I have had it about a month now..... sounds great!! The 13x15 is the best sounding tom I have ever heard in my life! The 16x18 is so deep it could be a bass drum. The snare is SWEET. Die Cast hoops! he did double 45's on everything. The finish is exactly what I asked for (no this is not one of the colors on his web site he can do any color you want just send him a pic) and did every option I wanted form the 10 lug bass drum to the mounted 16x18 to extra gloss....

I have gigged with it a couple times so far and it sounds sweet all miced up. (We use 8 mics for it at our last gig)

His customer service is GREAT!! I had a little problem with the DSS iso mounts working with my DW hardware and he mailed me new parts in like 4 days!

For the price I paid ($2,000) there is no way I could have gotten better drums.. anywhere.. period. If I have one gripe it would be the WorldMax Floor Tom legs. This is not a dig on Dave.. he doesnt make them... But I should have had him go with something else because they are almost useless

Here are the PICS.

And yes , I am a Neil Peart fan.

Actually, DW still uses Keller, I'm pretty sure. Last I heard, they had bought the machines and tooling to make their own shells, but found it was way too expensive and went back to Keller shells until they found a way to lower their costs.

They make lots of things, however they're especially well known for making high-quality wooden tubes. Some of these tubes can be used in furniture making, decorating, or I suppose you could make some kind of bizarre wooden plumbing out of their stuff.

One GREAT application for wooden tubes is to make drums. Keller can make them out of high quality maple, and make them in practically any specification you need...length, width, thickness, you name it. Drum comanies then put bearing edges on these "tubes", finish them, and mount hardware and heads on them...resulting in (you guessed it!) drums.

If you want to trace drums back even further, I'm sure Keller could put you in touch with whoever supplies them with their wood...probably a big company with lots of chainsaws or something.:D
