Anyone had any issues with these? I mean, I've never heard anyone talk too much crap about Paistes, but some jackass I was buying a paiste off was talking about how they're easy to crack.

I've never played Paistes before, but figured I would pick one up. Really bright sounding, not sure how much I like it yet.

It depends on how hard you hit.

The Fast Crash is a really thin cymbal.

I have several Signature (I use all Paistes: 2002's, the discontinued Signature Sound Formula, and Signatures) and the series that I like best are the Full Crashes. They are a medium to medium-thin weight.

I generally use a Marching sized stick, and haven't broken any yet.

I hit hard, but I hit correctly, with the tip of my stick, usually with a glancing blow.

It does seem pretty light, but I've had my Zildjian A Brilliant Crash in the same position my Paiste is now for a year and countless shows, and haven't had any problems with it.

Do I need to worry about it any more than I would any other fast crash?

I wouldn't think so. As long as you use a glancing blow, you should be fine. Just make sure that the cymbal can move freely on the stand, and that you have some kind of sleeve to protect the post hole from rubbing against the cymbals stand's tilter post.

I switch between a Tama Powertool #5 (which is the same size as a Promark 2S or a Vic Firth "Metal" stick, but it's got a barrel shaped tip) and a Promark DC-10.

I'm trying to have a stick custom made. I LOVE the Promark DC-10, but they are about 15.75 inches long, and I prefer drumsticks that are about 17" long.

I've always loved the sound of Paiste cymbals. I started out using Zildjians, but when i made the switch to Paiste, I fell it was one of the best moves I've ever made.
