Hmmm.....why is that??

because the nickelbacks and puddles of mudd and creeds and linkin parks of this world have made us forget what its like to listen to people with talent; these days mainstream is just another word for copying everyone else (yes i know there are exceptions)

Yeah, mainstream music has kinda taken a serious nose dive. There's not a whole lot to get excited about these days. I find myself buying old stuff, it's been a while since I bought an album made in the past 10 years.

There's a few lesser knowns out there on college radio...thank God for college radio.

on a positive note, i just picked up the new incubus album and it's really good. They are such a tight band and the singer has one of the best voices in rock since chris robinson of the black crowes. I'm always worried when i a new incubus album comes out because i'm afraid there will be too much effects and scratching from the dj, but they've still used that stuff effectively and tastefully, unlike the garbage from linkin park on the radio every 5 minutes.

GREAT album - GREAT band! Not sure if it is mainstream enough for them to really make it to super band status with this record - but if they can stay together they have a shot in the future! I do miss the original bass player - this album seems less technical than Morning View but thier sound has broadened (mostly from Mike the GTR player - WOW)! I wonder how much of a music writing influence the old bassist was! He always seemed to be a driving force on the 2 DVD's i have of them! Jose is not quite as busy on this record - none the less Jose and Carter B has influence my sound in the last 5 years big time...and he plays very well! AWESOME production drum wise as well! Jose's odd time feel is awesome - and i had "our" kit patterned after his tonality!

On a side note - Just talked with the cat that went out with him on the Lallapalooza tour as his tech while i was at NAMM - played and used a Rocket Shells snare the entire last half! guess he dug it! My RS kit sound JUST like his short tom DW set-up!

OK - enough already about incubus!
