Members terminaldeity
Congrats! Those are some awesome sounding cymbals... I actually have 2 of those cymbals....the 17" crash and 20" ride. They always sound excellent. The ride isn't that great for heavy rock type sounds because it isn't very "pingy" but other than that it does everything well. The crash is staple in my kit and sounds good in any type of song. I'd be interested to hear how the hi-hats sound...I haven't had a chance to play the mastersounds. I think once you get used to the K sound, you will notice how much more complex it is than the ZXT's. K Zildjians seem to be a favorite in recording studios. Members ShishKaboom!
Basically I was looking for cymbals that would fit into a variety of musical styles and situations, while I do play mainly melodic rock,Audioslave/Nickelback type stuff I didnt want cymbals that would put me too firmly on the very bright, loud side of things as I am also not averse to playing some jazz, fusion or latin when the need arises, while what I chose may not be everyones cup of tea they were the sounds that most closely fitted the sound I have been carrying round in my head, dark, complex and not too in your face.On the other hand the cymbals I am buying are just the start and I intend to add to them as time goes on so will probably end up with all manner of different sounds. Members tangman
thats very soon to upgrade, though if you have the money by all means go for it .....*sigh*i guess i'll be using my zbt's,zxt's and pro sonix's for a while:( (tho the pro sonix's are very good), thatsa nice choice of cymbals, if I had the choice I'd have different ones, but then again I have different musical tastes so obviously Id choose other cymbals. I'll take those Zxt's off you for freee if you are offering, my Zbt's have had 2 years worth of battering.
