Alright, here's the low down on those Axis longboard pedals.

Disadvantages:

1. They're ugly

2. As of right now their isn't a case that fits the right pedal. Axis is currently developing one though.

Advantages:

1. The Aircraft grade aluminum is extremly light and takes away the mass of the pedal, the only thing your foot needs to move is the beater itself. That means you get more control of the beater, rather than having to move around the bulky die cast pedal, chain, and and cam every time you use the kick pedal.

2. The longboard gives you more room to work, I have no idea why other pedals are so short. You can obviously do much more if you simply had more room to work on. I tried the standard Axis pedals, they just don't do it for me. Imagine trying to drum by holding the stick with only your thumb and first finger, it's the same way with pedals as well, you need your whole foot in the action.

3. The direct drive system gives you ultimate control over the beater, and doesn't buckle when playing at high speeds.

4. You can easily and quickly adjust the tension of the springs by moving this thingy up and down. Sorry, I don't know how to quite discribe this. Basically adjusting the spring tension can be done in seconds by simply changing the way the pedal pulls down on the cam.

5. The drive shaft is the most responsive shaft ever made. Even with my DW's, you can hold each end of the shaft and twist and you'll feel that their is some play to the shaft. When you do this to the Axis shaft it feels like your holding a broom stick, it's like it's one piece. This makes the left pedal feel like the right.

The Low Down:

Yes, the Axis Longboards are very unattractive, however it performs like nothing else.

Hahahaa, I think I've asked you this question before...

I don't believe you've asked me this before, but yes, I have no need for them so I'll sell them. They're basically new because I only used them for 10 minutes and decided that I didn't like them. The tips that come with the beaters are still in the original unopened packaging. PM me if you're interested.
