I use Pro-Mark American Hickory 5A's with nylon tips currently. I'm thinking of getting some aheads though. What size are the Joey and Lars signature sticks? Also can someone tell me the difference between a 5A and a 7A?

The Lars sticks are the equivalent of 5B's and the Joey ones are the equivalent to 7A's

5a's are longer, thicker and heavier than 7a's 7a's are vrey thin light and are usually shorter than 5a's. 5B's are the same length as 5a's but a bit thicker and heavier.

No Problem :)

If you do get some you should try a pair first because they are very heavy compared to wooden sticks, the Lars and 5A+ are quite heavy and may take some getting used to, the 7a's are about the same weight as 5a's though.

No, the "X" series are a little longer and a little thinner. A normanl 5B is .600 x 16" and the 5BX is .590 x 16.25"

The slotted nylon tip is the "E" series... I have played them a little bit, They are real nice, sound real dark on your ride just like wood, and they hold up just as long as a nylon tip. But I still like the higher pitch sound of nylon on my cymbals...

I think you'd be surprised how fast you can play with a bigger stick if you play with proper technique, a relaxed grip, and let the stick do the work for you.
