Hey guys! I'm new here and was wondering if you have any advice for me to make me a better singer. One area I really lack is vocal endurance, and I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong, because after a song like the one below, my voice is pretty shot for at least 20 minutes. I chose a really hard song (for me) so you can see where I'm struggling more easily. Thanks for your input - any and all feedback is appreciated!!

Pretty impressive falsetto use, but no wonder it's tiring...if you sing with a closed larynx and push it into so high a falsetto, sure it strains. You'll sound like ACDC in no time if you push it so hard for a long while :-)

BUt, impressive control and falsetto range. _If_ you can do that for good stretches and a few hours with small breaks and with a decent mic technique and volume, there's a future for you in some boy band for sure. Hard to tell from this clip as the quality is so sucky. Get a decent mic & recording done.

This sounds pretty good! :thu: But to be honest it's hard to make an accurate assessment because you are singing over a professionally recorded vocal. Nothing wrong with this, and as I said your voice sounds fine. But it's always easier to sing over a recorded vocal than to get out there by oneself. Nothing it lean on, you know?

Perhaps you can get a karaoke version of the song--or record an acoustic version with guitar accompaniment?

Sounds very nice!:thu:

One thing, sing the song acapella (no background track)

and record/post it here. I'm hearing your voice mixed with the background and it's hard to discern the two.

Strangely, I actually find it EASIER to sing without a recorded vocal track! I love karaoke backings (as long as they sound like the real song as much as possible).

I fnd when I use a vocal recorded background, like I did for most of my clips, I'm constantly half listening for the exact right timing...it distracts me. I feel I'm singing along and not SINGING...yeah.

To Alienwebguy, I like your voice and think it's really good and interesting, but yeah, I'm not sure which is you and which is the professional vocal.
