Brady Drums are made in Western Australia. They have been around for years and basically represent the pinnacle of drum production with the price tag to go along.

Generally they are built with Jarrah which is a native Australian hardwood and is much harder that the traditional North American maple which gives them their distinctive sound. They use unique production methods as well

Brady's drums are a 10 ply hand crafted drum made in Australia...

They use a native hard wood found only in Western Australia known as jarrah wood ...

The shells are created under extreme pressure rather than by the use of steam...

The jarrah wood is suppose to have a wider sonic range over maple or birch due to the hardness of the timber and the different method of construction...

The drums also have solid brass chrome tubular lugs rubber mounted to the shell at 2 contact points...

These drums usually have a larger price tag than drum workshop drums...

I got to tell ya, I'm very impressed with her playing, she has now had her third kit lesson and just seems to have a natural knack for it! As far as the kit, it sounds very good, the teacher came over to do some ergonomics to the setup and he loved it (really liked the yamaha bass pedal) I get the drift he may think I spent to much for a student but... my money... He seemed impressed with the brass too

I'm kidding about adding the other kit to it, as It wouldn't fit in the room :)

But I may just snag that 18 k session crash here soon just for the heck of it :p

Yeah, Brady makes some great drums. They make about a billion different snares all out of woods like Jarrah and others that most other manufacturers can't get their hands on.

I played a kit with fairly "low end" Brady snare on it (5 x 14 maple, I think) and it was great. Ceratainly not one of their more unique drums, but the thing was flawless. I checked out another one of their snares once...not sure what it was....but the thing was some kind of solid-shelled deal that was lathed out of a log or something. Rimshots like a 50 caliber rifle, and the thing weighed about 30 pounds.

Very cool drums, very unique, and very pricey.

There is a web site where you can hear a Brady Jarrah snare and compare it to 40 other popular snares. Moderator, correct me if I'm wrong, I read the rules and I think it's OK to post that link here as it is not a commercial site - nothing is for sale or trade - no money received from ads - it is just a small site I created for providing information to drummers. The address is: www.pdgood.us
