Members iDrum4ever
I haven't bought much gear for a few years until recently,so I must have missed it when 2-legged HH stands came out. If anyone has one of these, let me know if they are stable enough. It seems like a great idea, and I don't even have to stuff a 2nd BD pedal in there like most of you (yet). Members sherman22
Wow, I will never play on a 3 leg HH stand ever again, 2 legs is all you need. I have the DW 9000 2 leg HH stand, I love it, it is absolutly amazing. Also, you can't go wrong with the 5000 series 2 leg HH stand, my buddy has it, its just as good. Great stuff. The 2 legs make placing the HH closer to the snare/ double bass pedal a lot easier. Go for it...

If you want to save some money, I've got a Pacific 2-legged stand, and it's smooth, durable, and breaks down like a charm!

Members coyote-1
2-legged HH stands need a non-folding bottom plate under the pedal to function as a 3rd leg. Given that, there's no reason for them not to be rock-solid.

Members coyote-1
When you unfold the pedal, does it somehow lock into place? Originally posted by MattACaster Mine folds. But it's much stiffer than a normal hi-hat stand.
Members MattACaster
Originally posted by coyote-1 When you unfold the pedal, does it somehow lock into place? Not really. It's just real stiff. There might be screws on either side of it to tighten it into place. I've never had to mess with them though.
Members the DW
In my opinion, all hh stands should have 3 legs. Having a 2 legged stand is kinda like this: :D I just did this on a whim.
Members backtodrum
I have the dw5000 two legged stand and it too is really solid. And the bottom folds up and doesn't lock into place, but there are two tunning rod style screws that tighten the bottom in place as it hinges down if that makes any since. In a nut shell it tightens down and makes for a really solid stand. I can't imagine ever using a three legged stand again. Why clutter things up needlessly with more unneeded hardware in the way
Members cheeseadiddle
Originally posted by coyote-1 When you unfold the pedal, does it somehow lock into place? No, the lever glide pedal can just move on it's hinge point. Nothing holds it in place, but it's rock solid. What the lever glide has that I found by accident one day by messing around, is a little bar underneath the foot that slides out about 3" and can be locked in place with a tension rod screw. The lever glide really is an amazing hi-hat stand. I highly recommend it. Smooth as silk.

Members BBDrums
thinking of getting one of the 5000 series, which one do you recomend? The DW one that cost 179.00 or the one that cost 115.00 (lightweight)?
