Members manoeuver
How can I make my drums sound like all these drums, and also tips please on how I can get to playing these rhythms. I have a Pulse kit plus a extra drum that's sparkly.

Members FitchFY
Ooh, sparkles are tough. Due to the resilient light-reflecting nature, you actually need to sand down the sparkles using a 40-grit paper in alternating clockwise and counter clockwise patterns. This will or will not change the tone of the drum to be higher/lower. Also, if you use anything less than 40 grit, you'll go blind and grow hair on your palms. But what if you're playing with brushes? Does this not call for a finer grit?
Members Chefmike8888
For the snare I would try tuning the top and bottom heads fairly tight. I would say start somewhere around 80 ft.lbs of torque using a good quality Craftsman torque wrench. If that dosen't work you could always go to Toys-R-Us, find the cheapest Casio keyboard they have. Crank out beat #1 at like 160bpm, record it, then add way to much reverb. HTH. P.S. Remember to always wear your safety glasses when torquing down drumheads. Good luck Mike
Members drumtechdad
I also recommend rummaging through your mom's cupboards for the appropriate cymbals. You can't do the job without the right tools.
Members marko46
T, My good man, I apologize that a REAL answer to your question has yet to be posted. Apparently everyone is under the ASSUMPTION that the question you've posted, is not of a "Serious" nature. Let me assure that as far as I'm concerned, I feel it is. First off I noticed, what's that, there's something Shinny in the window...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... And as far as the sparkle drum, well you should not even ATTEMPT to achieve that sound w/out a minimum of two. Hope that helps you out my good man. Members SYMBOLIC
If you do get another sparkly one, make sure that they have the same sparkle refraction rating. If they don't, you may have prolems with lasers, it's very complicated and you wouldn't understand. Also you should get two new bass drums, really big drums, and fill them with blankets, stuffed animals (real animals would be better), used motor oil or a milk chicken bomb (your choice), and a double pedal, b/c the two drums looks cool, but double pedals are like magic. Members manoeuver
oh man you don't need to tell me about lazer prolems. my eye doctor told me he was gwan shoot me in the eye with his lazor beams and I stabbed him right there. ended that discussion with a nice paper-soaking period. Members SYMBOLIC
I just re-listened to the track, and I've found that if you stick your head into the wide end of a flugal(sp?)/alp horn and play, while simultainously screaming, and having people hit it with lead pipes you can get that tone. It doesn't help with speed, but it may be the only way to protect your eyes from lazers coming from mismatched sparkly toms. Just a thought. No T, he knows what he's talking about. But you have to add springs to the ends w/ duck tapp,( I got mine used at a local butcher shop). I tried the PVC once when I played in a band called @%$^#$&*^^ and the *@%?+, and the sound were overlyed dampened.
