Members Carminemw
One of the posts here that I came across was asking about choosing a specific kit...no big deal, right. Well it posted links to this huge drum shop, so I went exploring. Lo and behold, I came across this drum manufacturer from Italy called Le Soprano. These guys make real "hand made" from scratch drums... brass hardware, the whole bit. Since I had never heard of them before, I thought you all may not have either. So here's a link to a video of their production and short history...enjoy.... http://www.lesoprano.it/azienda/video_en.html By the way, I'm really in love with their "New Vintage" line. I think they look totally unique and if I could ever afford one, they'd be my next kit...if ever...

Members fayman
Carmine, I got back into listening to a band called Silverchair recently, since I hadn't heard them since high school. The drummer, Ben Gillies, plays Le Soprano and they sound sweet. His new kit is a beautiful, satin rosewood kit. Looks very vintage....12" & 13" racks, 16" & 18" floors, 24" kick. Nice! I gotta tell ya, I'm old school Italian, and when I saw the production process and all the brass etched hardware, I was drooling. Has a real mediteranean look! But as all custom stuf is, they are out of my ballpark. The one small kit I liked was well over 2500 pounds, roughly 5 grand. I just loved the authenticity of it all. I have to admit though, the wood stave process kind of freaks me out a little, but then again, I don't quite understand all the wood processing involved...
