Members IggyBot
I went into my local music store today looking for a new set of hats and a new stand. I immediatly found the stand I wanted for oh so long (Pearl H2000 Eliminator). Finding a new set of Hi-Hat's was a little harder. I looked around, and couldn't find anything in my price range that I liked. I asked the owner (a good friend of my band director) about any used stuff, and he went in the back and brought out a pair of lightly used Hi-Hats. I played them, and loved them immediatly. They have a great chick, and sound warm but sharp at the same time. I bought them ($150), came home, and played for a couple of hours, and started loving them more and more. I went on MF to see if anyone else liked them as much as I do. They're a pair of Zildjian Mastersounds, and they appear to be part of Zildjians A line, yet they don't appear to be A Custom Mastersounds which is all I found on MF. They don't have the brilliant finish, and the A isn't big like it is on the A Customs, it's just a small A next to "Mastersound". They're awsome hi-hat's, and I'd like to know exactly what kind they are (the guy told me they sell for about $270 new, if that's any help.) If it's nesecary, I can try to post a picture later tonight of them.

Members IggyBot
Thanks a ton, I don't know why I didn't bother checking the Zildjian website. They really do sound great though, and I'd recomend them to just about anyone.

Members IggyBot
That's good to here. They're used, but I really don't mind used stuff (Probably because my band director, who is an amazing drummer/percussionist, really only has used stuff, and it all sounds great) [Rant]Besides, if you buy something new, and play it for 6 monthes, it becomes used. So I don't really see a huge benefeit in buying something new for $270+ when I could get the same item for much cheaper in the same condition my new cymbals would be like in a few months.[/EndRant]
Members Hope Drums
Great choice in hats! I had a pair of the A Customs and didn't like them because they were too bright sounding. I'm also not a fan of the brilliant finish. I have ALWAYS used the standard 14" New Beats, but the Mastersounds (IMHO) have taken their place! Members Jeff Graw
Heh. The A Customs sure are bright and funky. Almost to the point of being *too* funky.
Members marko46
For "a-buck fity", you got a great deal. I've been lookin' at those to possible switch out with my New Beats. Marko
Members turdadactyl
Yo Iggy, sweet deal! I'm a fan of the Mastersounds. Just as you said, I think they're a variation of the A line, just like New Beats. Enjoy. A good set of hi-hats will probably last you a lifetime. I sprung for a 21" Paiste Dark Energy Mark I ride last week and my wallet is *still* feeling the pain. It's an absolutely beautiful cymbal though. Members IggyBot
Yea, I've been playing a lot the last few days, me and the two bands I play in them really love them. Just a quick question now, I REALLY need to upgrade my crash's and ride. I was thinking about going with Zildjian's A Custom pack, since it comes with a set of A Custom hi-hats, 20'' Ride, 16'' Crash for $645 on MF. This pack also comes with a free 18'' Crash and cymbal bag. I could then sell the hi-hats (they're around $300, right?) and either pay for the pack pretty easily, pick up a China which I really want. Is this pack a good deal? I could probably get it a little cheaper if I mention MF is selling it for $645 to the guy who owns the store I normally go to.
