Members summit111
My Brother, I ran across a deal not to pass up. A woman was selling a set of Roland TD-7's for $300 on Craigslist. Through e-mails and phone calls, I finally got over to their house near Baton Rouge. It was a doctors family and they lived in an Antebellum home on a plantation. The son had these drums and he didn't play them anymore. She just wanted them out of the house. After playing them, I almost burned my hand reaching in my pocket to give her three one hundred dollar bills. I took them to my studio, Amoralled them, and they look brand new and play great. They're not the mesh heads, but how could I pass this up!
Members Carminemw
Man!!! Such a deal! Great going for you! I've never been able to catch a deal like that but I'm sure glad they went to a good home. More power to ya and kick em for me!!!
Members Mickey66
When these first came on the market I traded $3,500 worth of gear for them...a stocker TD-7 w/TD-7 module. She probably said Oh,fiddle-de-dee as you were leaving with the Kit...must see "Gone with the wind" makes one wonder what people are thinking when they sell off stuff. Members JIM683
my first e-kit was the td7. The great thing about the kit is you can upgrade to one of the newer modules if you want and the pads are all compatible. I still have the kit with a td8 for practice and the td20 kit for playing. I think I paid $700 about 6 years ago so that is a great find. You won't lose any money on this investiment.
Members xush
the Td7 is the first E-kit I ever bought, back in the mid or late 90s. That particular module actually does some things that the new ones can't- it's a great unit with some nice sounds. Very good investment indeed. I keep 2 of the modules in the studio, they were a really good model. It can do velocity crossfades and switches when layering 2 voices that even the top of the line V-drums don't do. I remember being very disappointed when the Td10 came out to discover they'd phased out that function. It can work wonders for snare tones. Have fun with that thing! Members summit111
My Brothers, I played it last night for a rehearsal and the rest of the band was blown away. I'll still us my Stage Customs for live gigs, but the TD 7 might be used for smaller clubs when volume control is really important. I really don't all the capabilities of the module. I have a manual and will start reading it shortly. I noticed that the kick and snare sounds were really prominent and the cymbals needed to come up some. I think this can be adjusted in some way. Any suggestions?
