Sorry mate,

One of my old Metallica Favs, and nicely done!

Your drummer is really cute!!! haha! JK,man!:p

Nice style dude and I liked how you made the song yours by changing some licks up a bit.:thu:

To embed the player, copy the numbers in your browser box after the "=",,in this case it's,5Qz4LYYpANw,then hit the "YouTube" symbol in the reply options box,(fonts/color/sizes etc..),then paste between the YouTubes.

Will you start throwing things at me if I say something awkward. Naw...we're all buds here.

1) Your kit is out of balance audio wise...too much kick, not enough snare, buried cymbals and non existent toms. It has nothing to do with what your playing, it has to do with what I hear or don't.

2) You sound a little bottom heavy and not as articulate as I know you can be. It's a little um...disjuncted during transitions. Here's the verse, here's the chorus...kind of broken up...I would like to "hear the song" instead of a collection of parts.

3) Your singer is flat...sorry...don't care for him...jmo

4) Like to hear more bass help blend your kicks. The band is loud but a little thin.

You asked, so don't hate me now. These are just one goober's opinion...:thu:

OK, to answer in order...

1. Yup, tis the soundman's fault, though I was pleased to finally be able to hear my kicks from live footage. The other stuff does kinda blow, sound-wise.

2. We're a tribute band bro... we kinda have to follow the structure of the song (for the most part anyways), it just so happens that S&D flows just like that.

3. Yeah... don't get me started on our singer... oy!

4. Once again, talk to our soundman for the club. This vid has sound straight from the board. And for all it's shortcomings, I must say it probably is one of the best sounding live recordings we've done... sounds a lot better than the usual camcorder sound.

You didn't say I suck, so I don't hate ya bro! LOL

Hell Yeah! Old school tallica baby!!! I had to watch it twice because I was singing too loud the first time to hear anything real well.:p

Seriously though, I thought it was a great cover. I agree with Carmine on the bass issue. I do like to be able to hear bass in the mix and it is almost gone in that mix but like you said, a sound man issue. Hit him over the head with a brick then make him listen to KEA 100 times. Cliff is one of my favorite bass players, you can't take his parts out of the mix.

As for your singer, not that Papa Het is any great opera singer especially back in those days but your singer is a bit flat there. But I have heard more of your stuff on your myspace page and he doesn't sound like that all the time.

Hey Mike. Yea, singer. Oh, and beat the sound man, just for general principle if nothing else. Later:thu:
:thu:

You can only get so much out of a fiending little coke freak like him LOL Honestly, he's a pretty good soundman... the vid does not do justice to how the room sounds, truly.

Not bad whip. The singer is pretty woeful though. The lead guitarist needs to learn Kirk's leads too, hahaha. Your drumming was solid, and I noticed you did some of Lars' 1993 'binge and purge' era fills throughout the song. I'm glad you didn't put enter sandman up there!! If you do 'fight fire with fire' I'd love to see that dude!!

I wondered if anyone would notice the "B&P" version of the tune... glad someone did :) Did ya notice the Lars-esque "cringe" during the solo section? LOL

Singer, yeah... lead guy, yeah... heard it repeatedly LOL

And since you asked so nicely (LOL), I can put up a vid of Sandman just for you bro... ironically, we played it right after S&D that night :thu:

I've thrown FFWF at the guys to add to the list. At this point, part of it may show up as we're debating doing the "Kill/Ride" medley from the Load/Reload tours... but that's all still up in the air at this point.

Hahahaha. I estimated that I must have played 'enter sandman' a few hundred times at gigs over the years and I do the lars 'cringe' when I see it on the set list, hahaha.

If you don't end up doing FFWF do 'damage inc'! RIFFAGE!!!

I was actually pushing for "Battery" if we're gonna do another tune from MoP...

And as an update FFWF has been shot down for the moment, we have 4 new tunes we're gonna work up for debut in about a month, so, nothing "new" until those are done.

If it might alleviate your sadness, might I mention one of these new batch is "Breadfan"? :):thu:
